We are no longer building saddle trees, but we have two videos about how Western saddles fit horses available on our website.

So, what does Rod do when he’s not working? Well, he often works at other things! Over a couple of nights this week he turned this pile of uncut firewood…

Into this pile of cut up firewood.

And a few more nights and it will fill up the hole in this pile of split firewood. (The two rows on the right we split and added earlier this week when we got rid of the pile of firewood you can see on the right in the top picture.)

He needed to get them moved because we had the logs stacked on the cement pad he uses when he makes rawhide and we have some hides he needs to get done up.

So what is he doing today? Making rawhide - out in a snow shower! (This is the winter that just won’t quit...) We heard that making rawhide was one of the jobs they featured on the show Dirty Jobs. I think making rawhide in the snow takes it a step further...
